Lyrics
Not Polished, Not Perfect, Just Spirit and Flawed
I woke up feeling numb,
and you know,
just even a hum
would have been enough—
even to hit the drum.
But there was no more fun
in this humdrum day of my life.
Oh, what a strife, oh what a strife.
I lit a match inside my chest,
just to see if I still burn.
But all I found was smoke and ash,
and lessons I unlearn.
So I sat back, and I sat back, listened well,
to the silence in my soul and the stories I don’t tell.
Because I don’t think that anyone could spell—
the shape of what I lost, or the depth of how I fell.
So I fall again, and fall again, and again,
only to find myself right back where I began.
Again and again I fall, I fall—
but I find my way back, because that is all,
that is all that I need,
because it is indeed
God’s will for me to be.
So I breathe again, not strong, but real,
through broken chords and wounds that won’t heal.
And if this is grace, then let it be raw—
not polished, not perfect—just spirit and flaw
